World Expo

On the morning of June 7th, two live specimens of wild animals, "Lion King" and "rhinoceros baby" from Kenya, were unveiled at the Kenya Pavilion in the African Joint Pavilion.

The chairman of the Kenya Export Promotion Council, Hon. Njeru Ndwiga EGH, Kenya ambassador to China Julius Sunkuli, the Kenya Pavilion director Otieno O. Maurice, the joint Africa Pavilion curator Dilou Youlou and the Shanghai World Expo Bureau Africa Joint hall management department attended the unveiling ceremony.

Located in East Africa, Kenya is known for its reputation as "wildlife paradise". Its prairie habitat includes elephants, giraffe, wildebeest, cheetah and other rare wildlife.

In order to let the viewers who have not yet had the opportunity to visit the African continent to see and feel the original African wild animals, Kenya has shipped two precious living specimens of lions and juvenile rhinoceros from all over the country.

Hon. Njeru Ndwiga EGH said in his address that these two specimens represent great efforts made by Kenya in protecting the environment and wildlife. The theme of World Expo is "Better City, better life". Kenya has further extended this theme to "discovery City, harmonious city". The "harmony" here includes both the sustainable development of the city and the protection of natural environment and wildlife.

I hope you can unite to protect wild animals, especially endangered species, so that they can stay away from dangerous and unfavorable environment and live safely.

Starting today, two specimens will be placed in specially designed glass cabinets to greet guests.

The Lion King's mane is thick, sturdy, and shows the majesty of the king of animals. "Rhino baby" is like a toddler, naive and lifelike specimen, attracting a large number of tourists and animal lovers to watch.
