Brazil'S New Cotton To Be Listed

According to the statistics of the national cotton Exporters Association of Brazil, Brazil's cotton exports will slow down at the end of 2019 / 20, but the cumulative export shipment is still expected to reach 1.93 million tons.

According to the organization, affected by the new crown epidemic, some Brazilian cotton contracts were postponed but not cancelled. The Brazilian industry is still full of expectations for 2020 / 21, and the cotton export volume is expected to be equal to or even exceed this year. After a period of partial social isolation, activity is recovering in many industries in Brazil.

Brazil's cotton export volume in 2019 / 20 is expected to reach 2.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 150000 tons, before the demand and price drop caused by the new crown epidemic. The reason is that the shipment of cotton originally scheduled for April to June will be postponed to the second half of the year. Although Brazil's cotton exports in 2019 / 20 were lower than expected, they still increased by 50% year-on-year due to the increase in cotton production and China's increased imports.

At present, Brazil will begin to harvest new cotton in 2020, and the cotton output is expected to be close to 3 million tons, and the quality is superior. In 2020 / 21, due to the signing of many contracts in advance, it is estimated that Brazil's cotton export will still reach 2 million tons. The fall of Brazilian real exchange rate also makes Brazil's cotton export remain competitive.
