Industry, consumers nowadays are not as naive as they used to be.

The pollution of clothing industry is second only to oil, bad labor standards, dangerous chemicals, greenhouse gas effects, and waste producers.

These labels alone are enough to induce a war of words.

In the criticism, the "fast fashion" is the first to bear the blame.

According to McKinsey report 2016, "in each clothing category, (global) consumers keep a garment for about half of the time they were 15 years ago, and usually wear it only after seven to eight times.

To meet this demand, the number of garments produced annually doubled since 2000 and exceeded 100 billion for the first time in 2014. "

Large retailers also tend to promote the consumer's desire for fast fashion consumption by means of live show, and accelerate the speed of T's clothing to the store.

Why is India and China a key breakthrough in saving the global fast fashion crisis?

Obviously, such a fast moving product is not sustainable, and the future of the industry will be limited.

Is it possible for China and India to become a key breakthrough?

Idea: more emphasis on sustainable development than developed countries

Because of higher prices, "eco fashion" or "sustainable fashion" are generally considered to be more relevant to developed markets.

But research shows that emerging market economies seem to pay more attention to sustainable moral fashion than their counterparts in developed markets.

A report on Global Lifestyle Monitor, called The State of Fashion 2017, shows that 65% of emerging market consumers are actively seeking sustainable fashion while the mature market is below 32%.

78% of respondents from India and 65% of China believe that sustainable development is a major consideration for consumers in the local market.

Why is India and China a key breakthrough in saving the global fast fashion crisis?

Divya Hira is an entrepreneur who has obtained ethical and fair trade products from designers all over the world. They have their own theory on the difference between market consciousness.

Hira worked in a cowboy manufacturing factory, where she had the opportunity to visit suppliers in Bangladesh and India.

"Consumers from emerging markets are more likely to compete with local inventories, suppliers, designers and manufacturers, rather than consumers in the business / mature market.

People in emerging markets may prefer to wear clothes bought from local or domestic stores, rather than multinational brands, because they seem to be more "trusting" the brand, and they know where their products come from.

Hira told reporters.

Christina Dean (Christina Dean) is responsible for dealing with relief work for NGOs that reduce textile waste. She gives another explanation.

"If you look at consumers in emerging markets, they will usually be close to the production base, and it will be easier to understand how bad the immoral clothing products are.

It will be very shameful for the world to pollute and create carbon emissions.

I don't think Chinese consumers are more irresponsible than Western consumers. "

She said.

Consumption habits: more developed countries are conservative, but consumption power and brand awareness are improving.

Even if sales increased by 8 times (in developing countries like Brazil, China, India, Mexico and Russia), consumers still have more reservations on consumer spending than those in developed markets.

"Even after this growth, the average resident in developing countries bought only a small part of the clothing purchased by the residents of developed countries every year," he said.

But the trend is changing rapidly.

By 2030, China will become the largest clothing market in the world, and consumers' attitude towards brand attractiveness will be more significant.

McKinsey said: with the rising purchasing power of the new middle class, China will continue to maintain the central position of the high-end market, and will reach 28% growth of the middle and upper class by 2025.
