India Has Made Anti-Dumping Investigations On PTA In Related Exporting Countries.
In June 9, 2016, India made the import of purified terephthalic acid from or originating in mainland China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran and Taiwan.

The dumping caused substantial damage to the domestic industry in India. It recommended that China impose an anti-dumping duty of 95.7 to 97.6 US dollars / tonne. The anti-dumping duty rate of Indonesia is 83.08 to 168.76 US dollars / tonne, the anti-dumping duty rate of Malaysia is 98.48 US dollars / tonne, the anti-dumping duty rate of Iran is 102.86 US dollars / tonne, and the anti-dumping duty rate of Taiwan is 85.87 to 153.6 dollars / tonne.
In June 18, 2015, India filed anti-dumping investigations against purified terephthalic acid originating from or imported from mainland China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran and Taiwan. The dumping investigation period was from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015. The damage investigation period was from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012, April 1, 2012 to April 1, 2012, and to the dumping period. The customs code of the products involved was 29173600.
In November 12, 2015, the result of affirmative preliminary decision was released.
PTA
It is used for the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
The production of 1 tons of PET requires 0.85-0.86 tons of PTA and 0.33-0.34 tons of MEG (ethylene glycol).
Polyester includes fiber chips, polyester fibers, bottles for slicing and film slicing.
In the domestic market, 75% of PTA is used to produce polyester fiber; 20% for bottle grade polyester, mainly for various beverages, especially for carbonated drinks; 5% for film grade polyester, mainly for packaging materials, films and tapes.
