Meng Intends To Reduce Export Dependence On Textile And Leather Products

The government of Bangladesh is considering increasing the types of goods that can enjoy export cash subsidies from the existing 13 to 20, in order to stimulate more types of products exports, promote diversification of exports, and reduce export dependence on textiles, frozen foods and leather products.

There are 13 kinds of products that enjoy cash export subsidies: frozen foods, livestock slaughtered by Islamic law, processed fruits and vegetables, processed agricultural products, liquid glucose, leather products, bicycles, bone meal, hatching eggs and chickens, potatoes, light industrial products, jute, textiles, etc.

The products to be added to export subsidies include cut flower, storage battery, jujube, duck feather, salted fish, float glass and animal glue.

At present, the Ministry of Commerce has submitted the subsidy plan to the Ministry of finance.

In the scheme, the above seven kinds of new commodity export cash subsidy standard is between 5%-20%.
