In order to test the safety performance of mattress products, the Guangzhou furniture fire Laboratory of the United States security company recently found that the fire spread rapidly without the addition of fireproof mattresses. The heat wave in the laboratory was pressing, the heat release rate was over 800 kilowatts, and it accelerated up or even near flashover. While the fire mattress with fire retardant layer was controlled within 12 minutes.

Lai Lunhui said that in order to reduce the risk of home fires, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission has implemented the flame retardant standard 16CFR Part 1633 for mattresses since July 1, 2007. All mattresses sold in the United States must meet this standard, otherwise they will not be allowed to sell.

Experts pointed out that in addition to mattresses, most of the natural fibers, synthetic fibers and synthetic fibers used in daily life are flammable or combustible, and the textiles processed with these fibers are also highly inflammable.

A large number of statistics at home and abroad also show that indoor decoration fabrics, bedding, sofa, electric blanket and so on are the source of fire. About half of the causes of fire are related to textiles. Therefore, developed countries attach great importance to developing flame-retardant textiles and have made strict laws and regulations.

While enjoying more and more comfortable living environment, experts warn that when consumers choose to buy soft furniture, mattresses and other supplies, besides the beauty and comfort level, fire performance is also a key factor that must be considered.

Because when a fire breaks out, it will directly affect your time to escape from a fire, or even save your life.
