Vosonko, deputy director of the Russian Federation labor and Employment Bureau, said today that Russian enterprises will lay off about 200 thousand people in the next few months, thanks to the global economic slowdown.

According to reports, wenenke said most of the layoffs will be in December and January next year, and the number of employees laid off will be about 200 thousand.

He said that the estimate was based on information provided by some 4000 enterprises that were responsible for monitoring the employment data.

Although Russian officials have previously said that Russia will not be hit hard by the financial crisis, it is now increasingly affected by the global economic crisis.

The Russian stock market has fallen sharply since May, and the stock market value has evaporated more than 2/3.
