Germany reported that

Nike

The basketball shoes, which were publicizing its "Zoom Hyperdunk" in China, were equipped with double gasket and sold at a price of 1299 yuan.

Later, facts showed that Nike discriminated against the Chinese in quality.

This basketball shoe is different from Western standards, with only one air cushion on sole.

According to the German financial times, Nike's behavior was revealed in September 2011, so the company recalled all the "Zoom Hyperdunk" basketball shoes and returned the money to customers.

But it did not exempt him from punishment.

Beijing

The city commerce and Industry Bureau has recently issued a ticket of 4 million 870 thousand yuan for Nike's misleading advertisements, accusing Nike of double standards in products and differentiating between Chinese and foreign consumers.

The report said that after the announcement of the fines decision, although Nike admitted that it had made some false publicity in the advertisement, it also declared that it had complied with the quality regulations issued by the Chinese government and the company's quality standards.

The German Financial Times quoted Chinese media reports that legal experts thought the punishment for Nike was too light.

China Daily quoted Beijing Ying Ke law firm

Yi Sheng Hua

"This is not only a discrimination against Chinese consumers, but also a violation of Chinese laws and regulations," the lawyer said.

Yi Shenghua said that this is not the first time western companies have treated Chinese consumers in a way that is worse than other countries' consumers.

Yi Shenghua pointed out that "misleading advertising and double standards are very common among some multinational companies", regardless of clothing or food and electronic products.

Therefore, he appealed to the Chinese government to take more measures to protect the interests of Chinese consumers from such acts.

He stressed that the punishment so far has been too light.

The report points out that for Nike, image damage may be much more painful than the economic losses caused by fines.

The world's top sporting goods manufacturer's business in China is not particularly good at present.

Not long ago, the company announced a 12% decline in its quarterly profits and the first decline in orders in the next three months.

Charlie Denson, President of Nike, commented on the developments: "Chinese consumers will become increasingly demanding and more demanding."
