The following are mainly about polyurethane insole air cushion and polyurethane hollow molding air cushion, PVC soft air cushion and PVC rigid air cushion, thermoplastic polyurethane air cushion and thermoplastic polyurethane air cushion, and their advantages and performance.


Polyurethane (PU)


Polyurethane materials have good comprehensive properties.

It not only has high strength, high elasticity, high compression strength, excellent tear resistance, wear resistance, oxygen resistance and ozone, solvent resistance, such as non-polar solvents hexane, heptane, paraffin oil, etc., has little effect on polar solvent polyurethane, even under high temperature, the swelling of polyurethane in non-polar solvents is also very small, and the quality is light, which is very meaningful for lightweight design of shoes.

However, polyurethane has poor water resistance and high internal heat generation.


Polyurethane insole air cushion is mostly hidden air cushion, fixed between the insole and the middle sole.

The overall thickness of the air cushion is thin, and the internal pressure is small. It is generally used for sports shoes with low requirements for shock absorption design.

Such as golf shoes, badminton shoes and so on, are hidden air cushion design.


Polyurethane hollow molding air cushion is the most widely used air cushion at present. The air cushions used by Nike and other famous brand air cushion series sneakers are almost all polyurethane air cushions.

It can be designed according to the specific location of different parts, different functions and age of the wearer. It can be designed into different internal pressure, different structure, different thickness and different colors. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)


Thermoplastic polyurethane is the first polymer material that has been found to be elastic and plastic. It has excellent physical and mechanical properties, such as tensile strength and elongation.

Lower, hard (Shao 50~83) tensile strength is high, tear resistance is good, in a wide range of temperature has flexibility, wear resistance and puncture resistance is excellent; crack growth resistance is the best in all thermoplastic materials; anti longitudinal bending strength and low impact strength is high; resilience and cutting resistance is good; oil resistance and weather resistance is good, especially for mineral oil at normal temperature, diesel oil, under the action of ultraviolet light will yellowing, but has little effect on the performance, adding some UV absorbers can reduce yellowing phenomenon; sensitive to acid and alkali, easy to be eroded, test performance can be simulated immersion test. Its chemical structure is different from that of shore hardness, and the tensile strength varies from 25 MPa to 70 MPa, and soft (Shao A70 to 85).

In addition, like all thermoplastics, thermoplastic polyurethane can be recycled. Adding a small amount of leftovers to the new thermoplastic polyurethane will not have any effect on the quality of the product.


Thermoplastic polyurethane pipe air cushion mainly depends on the excellent physical and mechanical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane, high resilience, excellent penetration resistance, excellent crack growth resistance and high impact strength.

The thermoplastic polyurethane air cushion, which should be called "liquid pad", should be called "liquid pad". The overall thickness of the hidden palm air cushion is generally 1-1.2mm, the thickness of the air chamber is generally 2-4mm, and the thickness of the solid part is generally the same as that of the edge thickness 1-1.2mm.
