Pakistan'S Textile Industry Is In A Doldrums.

According to foreign reports in November 22nd,

Pakistan

According to the latest statistics from the Statistics Bureau, the export volume of cotton yarn in October was only 40 thousand tons, down 26.1% from the same period last year, the seventeenth time in the past 21 months, lower than the same period last year, and the lowest record in the past 12 years.

As of the same month, the total export volume of cotton yarn in Pakistan this year was about 370 thousand tons, down 14.3% from the same period last year, creating the lowest level in the same period in nearly 12 years.

In addition, in October, the country's textile exports were only $1 billion 20 million, down 13.5% from the same period last year, the first time in the past two years, lower than the same period last year, the lowest level in nearly a year.

Among them, only "other textile materials" this category.

Export volume

Compared with the same period last year, the export volume of all other categories including cotton cloth was lower than that of the same period last year.

In fact, compared with last year, the prices of cotton and yarn have dropped sharply in recent years, and remain in a comparison.

Stable

In addition, the weakness of the Pakistan rupee against the US dollar has also eased, so the recent poor export situation is ultimately attributed to the sluggish demand for the textile supply side of the country and even the world.

In addition, the worsening weather situation has aggravated the worsening situation of textile industry (over the years, the trend of textile exports in the same period has been consistent with the trend of natural gas supply).

It is reported that the supply of natural gas in Pakistan's textile industry has been reduced to 3 days a week, which has resulted in the failure of many textile mills to deliver orders on time.

In this regard, GoharEjaz, former chairman of the Pakistan Textile Association, exclaimed, "the shortage of natural gas is leading to the declining competitiveness of Pakistan textile industry in the international market."

In addition, AsimHussain, the country's oil minister, promised recently that this winter will ensure that the textile industry supplies natural gas for at least 4 days a week.

The industry believes that this commitment can be fulfilled.

Wait and see

If the latter textile industry continues to be weak, Pakistan's export of cotton yarn is likely to be less than 450 thousand tons this year, or its lowest in nearly 12 years.
