A Review Of Australian Wool Market Week

The closing price rose. The average price of wool rose by 2.2% in Sydney, Melbourne and Frey Mantell auctions, and the Australian dollar returned 1% from the dollar.


This week, the AWEX Eastern market index increased by 24 Australian cents (+1.9%), with a net profit of 1294 cents per kilogram, while the northern market index rose by 25 Australian cents (+1.9%), with a net income of 1344 cents per kilogram, while the southern market index rose 22 Australian cents (+1.8%) to 1257 cents per kilogram net gross.

The western market index increased by 37 Australian cents (+3.0%), with a net profit of 1287 cents per kilogram.

This week, after two days of auctions in various markets, the Eastern market index increased by 20 Australian cents on Wednesday, up 4 Australian cents on Thursday; the northern market index rose 20 Australian cents on Wednesday, up 5 Australian cents on Thursday; and the southern market.

It rose 19 Australian points on Wednesday and rose by 3 Australian points on Thursday.

The western market index rose 31 Australian cents on Wednesday, up 6 Australian cents on Thursday.

In dollar terms, the Eastern market index increased by 12 cents, the northern market index increased by 12 cents, the southern market index increased by 10 cents, and the western market index increased 26 cents.

In the euro, the Eastern market index increased by 29 euro cents, the western market index increased by 29 euro cents, the southern market index rose by 27 euro cents, and the western market index rose by 38 euro cents.


This week, the number of wool provided for auction reached 35181 packs (last week's offer was 42310 packages), and 5.6% did not deal, of which 4% did not close in Sydney, and 5.5% did not close in Melbourne, and 8.4% did not happen in Frey Mantell.

The non turnover rates of Merino hair and wool were 5.8% and 3% respectively.

This is the lowest non turnover rate so far this season.


This week, the number of wool reached 33213 packs.


New Zealand Merino company offered 789 bags in Melbourne on Wednesday.

24.1% of the auctions were closed.


Buyers from China are once again in a dominant position and are supported by buyers from India and Taiwan, China.


Next week's auctions in Newcastle, Melbourne and Frey Mantell will continue. The number of registered wool now reaches 46236 packs.

At present, the estimated supply of wool in the next two weeks (twelfth weeks and thirteenth weeks) is 46950 and 40800 packs respectively, up 11.2% from the three week's provision in the same period last year.

Next week, Newcastle will conduct its first auction this season.


The New Zealand Merino company offers 2500 bags of wool for auction in twelfth weeks.

At the auctions in South Africa, the Cape wool index increased by 0.8%, and the South African rand depreciated by 1.4% against the US dollar and appreciated 1.3% against the euro.
