Swiss Apparel And Footwear Retail Sales Rose 0.6% In July

Swiss Bureau of statistics 19 said that Switzerland's actual retail sales in July rose 3.3%, nominal retail sales rose 3.1%.

Nominal retail sales rose 4.1% in June, and actual retail sales increased by 5.1%.

In the 7 months 07 years ago, the actual retail sales rose by 4.7%, and nominal retail sales increased by 3.6%.

The nominal retail sales of clothing and footwear increased by 4% in July and 0.6% in real terms.

Nominal retail sales of foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco decreased by 0.2% over the past year, accounting for 8% of annual sales of tobacco.

The Swiss central bank raised its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points last week, saying the economy is booming.

Economists believe that if the current financial market turmoil will not continue and does not affect the Swiss Economic Growth negatively, there may be interest rate hikes in December.
