In December 16, 2010, the European Commission announced that the European Parliament had strengthened the executive power of the European Commission with the Council of the European Union.

European Union Trade Commissioner Teguh Hurt (Karel De Gucht) has criticized the adoption of the current legal procedures of trade defense measures, and believes that the representatives of the member states of the anti-dumping committee will be vulnerable to lobbying and geopolitical pressures.

The new system will help reduce the above situation.
