The price of cotton yarn has climbed more than 30% in October and has reached the highest level in history. As a result, many manufacturers of high value added textiles in Pakistan may be forced to close.

Orders for goods may be pferred to Bangladesh.

The price of cotton yarn in Pakistan has risen sharply due to soaring domestic prices in the domestic market and the international market, and soaring demand from mainland China and Hongkong.

Pakistan's cotton trading price is about 127 rupee PKR (about 1.50 US dollars) per pound, more than 130% higher than that in Pakistan (2009).

Garment manufacturers in Pakistan claimed that they had supplied yarn shortages in Pakistan's domestic consumption and asked the Pakistani government to ban exports of cotton and cotton yarns.

Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association PRGMEA, President of Pakistan, Ejaz Khokhar told the media that, because of the Palestinian state,

The increase in exports of cloth to China and other Far East countries has led to the shortage of materials for the production of high value added textiles.

Khokhar is worried that if the shortage of materials is not improved, Christmas orders will be pferred to Bangladesh.

M Yasin Siddik, vice president of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), denied the supply shortage of Pakistan's market yarn.

Siddik said in a statement that the export volume of first quarter country yarn was 46851 tonnes in the current fiscal year, less than the same period in the previous fiscal year, thus increasing its domestic market supply by 28%.
