ISO Two Toy Safety Standards Issued And Implemented

Recently, the international organization for Standardization (ISO) issued two toy safety standards. These two standards are expected to reduce children's risk of injury due to unsafe equipment or dangerous substances.

The two criteria are "

"And" Toy Safety - the third part: migration of specific elements ".

According to the introduction, "Toy Safety - the fourth part: swing, slide and similar indoor and outdoor activities toys" put forward requirements and test methods for swing, slide and many other sports toys to ensure the fun and safety of the game, which is suitable for indoor and outdoor activities toys for children under 14 years old.

"Toy Safety - the third part: migration of specific elements" is a revised standard. The original standard was released in 1997. This standard aims to minimize the potential harmful substances of children due to swallowing toys by reducing the risk of hazardous substances, and provides the highest acceptable concentration levels of hazardous substances (such as arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury and other materials found in toys), as well as sampling and extraction methods for analysis.

Toy materials include paints, printing inks, plastics, cardboard, textiles, glass and ceramics.

The reporter learned from China's relevant Standardization Technical Committee that China adopted these two items.
