M&S plans to double the number of its stores in India from the current 18. The company plans to increase the number of India stores by 15-18 in the next 3 years.

According to their previous franchise relations, they sell high priced British products in small stores, which belong to small and high priced retailers.


Through cooperation with Reliance retail companies, M&S can open larger shopping malls and reduce the price by purchasing 38% of the local products. The company plans to increase the percentage of India local purchases to over 60% by 2012.

Local sourcing allows Marsha's department to more flexibly cater to the needs of the market.


This year alone, M&S has opened 4 new stores in India, bringing the number of shops in Marsha's department to 18.

In the first 5 months of this year, Vietnam imported $3 billion 700 million worth of raw materials into the clothing and footwear industry, the office of comprehensive statistics of Vietnam reported.
