Zhongshan Inspection And Quarantine Bureau Fully Implements Clothing Enterprise Evaluation
Zhongshan city of Guangdong province is a big market of garment export in China. In 2010, the Zhongshan inspection and Quarantine Bureau made full efforts to promote the conformity assessment of export textiles and garments. Combined with the classification of enterprises and the risk level of products, the applicable supervision methods, routine supervision and inspection cycle and frequency, daily sampling inspection cycle and frequency were determined, and the traditional inspection and discharge were changed to comprehensive conformity assessment.
There are 680 export garment production enterprises in Zhongshan, of which nearly 100 are exported over 5 million dollars.
In 2009, the value of garments exported for inspection amounted to US $1 billion 733 million.
Developed countries and regions such as Europe, America, Japan, Canada and Hongkong are the main destinations of Zhongshan's clothing exports.
Since the implementation of the conformity assessment of export textile and apparel this year, by the end of March, more than 350 export textile and garment manufacturers were identified as one or two or three types of enterprises, so they enjoyed different degrees of preferential treatment in the frequency of sampling, batch, inspection and customs clearance.
In the assessment work, the Zhongshan inspection and Quarantine Bureau combined the key points of conformity assessment procedures, combined with the risk characteristics of product risk and safety, health, environmental protection and anti fraud projects, and removed the risk of low color fastness and odor items. In view of the characteristics of fiber components labeled as high risk, the quantitative analysis of the fiber components of two component and above blended products was carried out. Meanwhile, the total lead content of children's accessories was increased according to the high attention requirements of the United States and Denmark for children's clothing.
It not only lightens the burden of enterprises, but also better checks the source of raw materials, such as safety, health, environmental protection and anti fraud.
It is understood that the Zhongshan inspection and Quarantine Bureau will complete all the supervision and classification of export textile and garment production enterprises by June 30th of this year, and carry out inspection and supervision of enterprises in accordance with the requirements of the conformity assessment procedures for export textiles and garments.
