Prada's 11 companies only produce 20% of the finished products, and the rest are outsourcing.

Prada is currently working with 450 raw material suppliers and 480 manufacturing enterprises, and employs 170 quality monitors.

The report described the move as monitoring quality and ensured adequate production capacity, but Goldman Sachs also regarded it as a quality risk factor, but it did not mention any outsourcing areas in the report.


In fact, earlier, domestic media quoted the news that Prada had found a factory that met the requirements in China in the first two years, and then produced it in China.

Under the cheap image of "Made in China", its CEO proposed that the label of origin should be abolished and changed to "Made by Prada".


Foundry industry chain


There are two kinds of agent processing in China: one is

Finished product

One is to take part in the process. Perhaps the processing of embroidery is placed in China. The cotton precursor may be processed in Malaysia, but the majority of the finished products are produced.


A factory worker in Dongguan revealed that luxury brands have general agents in the country. After receiving orders from the brand, the general agent, according to the equipment of the factories that can handle foreign trade, carries out the contracting of different styles of garments, and chooses different factories according to the different styles and other requirements.


Being a first-line brand, it may share with other front-line or second-line or even popular brands.

Garment processing plant

At the same time, according to the different styles of the year, the processing plants that provide production are not fixed.

Before the production, the factory will receive a sample, and some OEM factories will be outsourcing too much. This is the so-called "two way list".

"There are some first-line brands who are afraid to be known for their processing plants. They will even find some remote processing plants to provide foundry services, or even some home workshop type processing plants."

She said, "the production facilities in Guangdong are better, and there are more raw materials in Jiangsu and Zhejiang."


In theory, these processed garments will go back to the Hongkong headquarters of the company. After being assembled in Hongkong, they will be pported to Italy, France or Spain.


However, due to the high cost of pportation and customs duties, it is not likely that all garments or other products produced in various regions will be sent to headquarters in the industry.

The staff said that some of them were produced in China, labelling Italy, and even the customs did not go out. After finishing simple procedures, these products were usually wholesale to agents directly or directly into store sales.

Although the salesmen of the store repeatedly emphasized that their products were hand-made by European craftsmen, they later exported to China.


A foreign clause stipulates that the majority of the product (the part that determines its quality) must be manufactured and completed in that country, and the cost (labor, material, etc.) produced in the country will at least account for 50% of the total cost, and the above two items will be used to label the country.

According to this provision, the label of "Made in China, DesignedinI-taly" seems more reasonable for products processed in China.


Honest brand


Ouyang Kun, director of the China Representative Office of the World Luxury Association, told reporters that luxury brands in China are both bright and dim.


The old Italy luxury brand Armani (Armani) belongs to the "Ming" way.

Armani director of public relations explained to reporters that Armani has many brand lines, of which GiorgioArmani is the craft and raw material of pure Italy, while EmporioArmani is partly made in China, while the sub line brand Ar-maniExchange fully authorizes the production of the camp by the cooperative business.

The company has received more orders recently. He said that because of the cost control of luxury brands after the financial crisis, the number of orders experienced by skilled and experienced factories increased, while small-scale factory orders were reduced.


Reporters at the EmporioArmani store saw that each garment clearly marked different origins in Chinese, "origin: Italy", "origin: Serbia", "origin: Shenzhen of China" and so on.


Equally honest is the British National luxury brand Burberry (Burberry).

The brand decided to move to China last year on the grounds of pursuing economic benefits and ignoring multiple domestic resistance.

Burberry closed its main factory building in the southern Wells Rhonda valley area. According to the "globalization" plan put forward in September last year, it will officially move the production line to Shenzhen, Guangdong, China's mainland.
